Motivation

ACCIDENT
This is Balázs Koleszár aka Rider Baloo (born January 2, 1984) a Hungarian professional rider who survived a 2006 motorcycle accident in which my left arm was amputated, but ultimately returned to professional riding.
REHABILITATION
The tragedy was followed by a whole year of both physically and mentally demanding rehabilitation. My goal and determination was to be a successful athlete again.
SUCCESS
Based on my experiences, I’m the most proud, I could help many other injured individuals to get back to sports, giving back their passion and joy of life, supporting them to believe in their dreams.

DETERMINED TO RETURN TO RIDING
On March 20, 2006, aged 21 at the time, I went for a morning ride. After the delinquent car driver crossed my main road, we crashed, where a signpost severed my left arm just below the shoulder. I was rushed to a hospital felt into coma. After spent a month in the emergency room, I had 5 month in recovery because of other injuries besides my amputation.
RETURNED TO MY BIKE
Encouraged by the initial success, I felt strong enough to start working on my dream: create an adaptive sports prosthetic arm. With this “riding” prosthetic arm, I am able to handle any kind of vehicle which has a straight bar. I can ride my motorcycles, bicycle, even more I get the chance to try out goodies, such as Jet ski, ATW, kite-surfing.
RIDER BALOO FOUNDATION
RIDER Baloo Foundation was founded in 2006, to help the rehabilitation of Balázs Koleszár and other individuals whom had limp loss in an accident. Our goal is to support stages of rehabilitation in health, facilitate reintegration to community with financial resources We continue to work to help every rider after permanent damage: in psychological support, financial assets and providing prosthetic devices.
